- The Top of the Rock Race -

The GAAA re-introduces into the athletic calendar the “Top of the Rock” hill climb. This race sets off from the Traffic Lights beside Jumpers Building, Rosia Road and on reaching the Piccadilly roundabout it’s up all the way to the top. This should prove to be a major challenge in this year’s programme.

Note: This race is a steep hill climb starting at sea level and climbing to 400 metres over a 4.3km road course.

Winter Youth Track League 2012

This year’s Athletic Track Leagues starts in February, the GAAA are dividing the Youth League into 5 different age categories, including the ‘6 years & under range’, which was introduced last season and proved popular with young runners and parents alike.  All League categories are held over four rounds, competed on a weekly basis with each age group challenged at varying race distances as shown on the table below.

(All races will be held at the Victoria Stadium Track with registration opening from 6:00pm and racing events starting from 6:30pm.)

Winter Senior Track League 2012
Also starting this February is the Winter Senior Track League. Like past Leagues this will be held over four rounds competed on a weekly basis with runners challenged at varying race distances as shown on the table below.

When & Where

The race will start on Sunday 26th February 2012 at 11:00 a.m. from the Race Starting Line beside Jumpers Building, Rosia Road.

We request that all runners report to the registration point situated beside Jumpers Building, Rosia Road, near the track finish line as from 10:15 a.m.

Top of the Rock Road Race

Route Detail
Starting from the traffic lights beside Jumpers Building and heading northwards along Rosia Road. On reaching the Piccadilly roundabout it turns up Elliot’s Way, Europa Road, Engineer Road, St. Michael’s Cave Road reaching the finish line located under the ‘Cable Car Cables’ beneath the ‘Top of the Rock Station’.
